Czechia to United Kingdom

You must hold either a valid ordinary passport or a national identity card; these are accepted for entry. A driving licence and a temporary passport do not entitle their holders to cross the border.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry to the United Kingdom.

If you are travelling without both parents — unaccompanied, with only one parent, or with another adult — you must carry a notarised letter of parental consent and a copy of a parent's passport. Carry these documents with the child when travelling.

Travel insurance is recommended but it is not a condition of entry. You may wish to include cover for medical treatment costs and for return travel to Czechia in your policy; the official guidance recommends travel health insurance and assistance services.

Border staff may ask you to show that you have sufficient funds for your stay and proof of a return or onward ticket. These are documents you may be asked to show on arrival, so carry them with you.

The ETA is normally granted in minutes to hours and, once approved, it is valid for two years or until your travel document expires, whichever comes sooner. The ETA must be obtained before departure.

You must complete the ETA application online; there is no in-person route at an embassy or consulate to obtain the ETA. Use the official application portal linked on this page.

You must hold an approved ETA before you travel; obtaining an ETA does not itself allow paid work or study in the UK. The short-stay permission for tourism does not permit paid work or study.
