Romania to France

You may enter France with either your Romanian passport or your Romanian national identity card; both are accepted travel documents for this route. A driving licence and a temporary passport are not accepted for entry.

Medical/travel insurance is a condition of entry to France. The French authorities and the Romanian consular guidance both recommend having medical cover or a European Health Insurance Card and advise taking out travel insurance that includes emergency medical repatriation and baggage cover.

You will not be asked to show proof of funds on arrival to France on this route; Romanian travellers are not required to present bank statements or cash evidence as an entry condition.

There is no arrival registration or entry card required for Romanian tourists arriving in France. You do not need to complete an arrival form on entry.

Romanian children under 18 travelling to France need the same accepted travel documents as adults: a valid passport or a national identity card. No parental consent letter or additional paperwork is required for minors on this route.

French rules require a cash declaration for travellers entering or leaving the EU if you carry 10,000 EUR or more (or equivalent in other currencies, bonds, shares, traveller’s cheques). Declarations can be made at the French customs online service listed by the authorities.
