Lithuania to Egypt

A Lithuanian passport is required for entry to Egypt; a national ID card, driving licence and temporary passport are not accepted for this route.

A physical Egyptian visa is issued on arrival at Egyptian airports for tourist travel; you do not have to arrange it before departure. It is also possible to obtain a visa beforehand through an embassy or the official application portal if you prefer to pre-arrange it.

Travel insurance is mandatory and is a condition of entry to Egypt; you should have health and travel insurance and know its terms before departure.

You will not be asked to show proof of funds such as bank statements or cash when entering Egypt on this tourist route.

There is no arrival registration and no entry card required for tourists arriving in Egypt on this route.

If you are travelling to South Sinai resorts via the designated South Sinai border control points and stay no more than the indicated short period, you may be exempt from the visa fee and registration; you must present a confirmed hotel or camping reservation on entry and at checkpoints.

The Lithuanian passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Egypt; check your passport expiry against your planned departure date.

Stateless persons holding Travel Documents issued in Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia must obtain a sticker visa and security clearance from the Egyptian Embassy in advance; they are not admitted without these documents.

Lithuanian minors travelling to Egypt need no extra consent letters or notarised paperwork beyond the required passport; children must hold their own accepted travel document.

Egyptian limits apply to the amount of foreign currency you may carry: no more than 10,000 US dollars or equivalent. It is forbidden to send money by airmail or mail, and there is a limit on Egyptian pounds that may be taken out of the country.

If you arrive via the Taba border point from Israel, Egyptian authorities permit Lithuanians to cross using emergency visas under the current conditions announced by Egyptian authorities.

If your travel document is damaged or otherwise not an ordinary passport, you risk being refused entry; an ordinary Lithuanian passport that meets the validity rule is the accepted document for this route.
