What should I do before I travel?

Apply in advance for the electronic visa (e-visa); the required permission is an e-visa obtained online. The e-visa is also obtainable through an embassy or consulate as part of the process.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry. Suriname accepts both ordinary passports and temporary passports as travel documents.

No vaccination is mandatory, though yellow fever vaccination is recommended. Travel insurance is recommended but is not a stated condition of entry.

Suriname does not maintain an embassy in Ukraine; the nearest Surinamese embassy is in Brazil. Plan visa and consular arrangements accordingly.

What happens at the border?

On arrival you may be asked to show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay, a return flight, and a hotel booking. Be prepared to present those documents to the border officer if requested.

Arrival registration is required online; complete the required online arrival registration as instructed before or immediately after arrival.
