Poland to Madagascar

A Polish national identity card and a driving licence are not accepted for entry to Madagascar on this route. You must travel on a passport or a temporary passport; the authorities accept only those documents.

Your passport must be a biometric passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry. A temporary passport is also accepted. The Malagasy authorities do not accept an identity card or driving licence for entry.

Madagascar may ask you at the border for proof you can fund your stay and for a return or onward flight. Have a printed or digital copy of a booked return ticket and evidence of funds available to show if asked.

A notarised letter of parental consent is required for travellers under 18. Carry the letter and the child’s passport when travelling.

Travel insurance is not required for entry but it is recommended. Obtain a policy that covers medical treatment and medical evacuation; keep the policy details with your travel documents.

No arrival registration or entry card is required on arrival to Madagascar for this route. You do not need to complete an arrival form as a separate entry step.

If you lose your biometric passport while in Madagascar, you may leave using an EU Emergency Travel Document issued by an EU country with a mission in Antananarivo; you will need a local police report of the loss.
