What should I do before I travel?
Before you travel, make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of entry to the Maldives.
Apply for the required physical visa in advance if you prefer, via a Maldivian embassy or consulate. If you do not obtain it beforehand, you can obtain the same 30-day visa on arrival at the airport.
Complete the online arrival registration at https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ before travel or on arrival as required.
What happens at the border?
On arrival you present your passport and the physical visa (if you have pre-applied) or obtain the 30-day visa at the airport. Immigration may ask to see proof of sufficient funds for your stay, a return flight, and a hotel booking.
